A visit to Primal Archery isn’t timed or rushed.
You move through the courses at your own pace, choosing how much you shoot as you go.
Before getting into the course options below, here are a few key things to know so you can choose what suits your group best.
Before you start
Ages
The courses are suitable for ages 6+.
The Hunting Grounds is 12+.
Supervision
Archers under 18 must be supervised by a participating adult.
Groups
Larger groups are welcome. Groups of 6+ are encouraged to book ahead so we can get you shooting smoothly.
Flexibility
You can start with a smaller option and add more targets or time on the day if you’d like.
You head to the first target. Each archer shoots their arrows (either 3 or 6), then the group walks down together to score, pull arrows, and move on to the next target.
The targets run parallel to each other along the course, so groups move forward together in one direction rather than crossing paths. It’s simple, social, and easy to follow.
Staff are always nearby to help with safety, technique, or questions.
The Plains
5 target option · open terrain
What to expect
Short-distance targets set out in the open.
The Plains is our relaxed, confidence-building course, and a great way to settle in. It’s especially popular with beginners, kids, and mixed groups, and it’s a nice warm-up before heading into the trees.
3 shots per target – $20
6 shots per target – $30
Good for a relaxed first visit or mixed groups.
More shooting, more time on the course.

The Woods
10 target course · under the trees
What to expect
Targets set under the tree canopy, with staggered distances and a beautiful flow through the bush.
The Woods is the fan favourite. It’s immersive, addictive, and easily the most popular course on site. Once people start shooting here, they usually don’t want to leave.
It’s not about difficulty. It’s about rhythm, movement, and that “just one more target” feeling.

6 shots per target – $40
A great balance of flow and focus.
More shooting, more time under the trees

Shoot both courses!
Starting out in The Plains is a great way to settle in, warm up, and build confidence before heading into the trees. From there, The Woods tends to become the main event, with more targets and a slower, immersive flow.
There’s no rush to move on. You shoot at your own pace and can spend as much time as you like at each target.

The Hunting Grounds
Shooting line · group-friendly
What to expect
The Hunting Grounds is a premium, staff-supervised shooting area with long-distance targets (10–60m).
Rather than moving through a course, you shoot from a marked line and retrieve arrows together when the whistle is blown. It’s structured, safe, and easy to follow.
This zone is ideal for groups who want to stay together, take turns shooting, and enjoy the experience as a shared activity.
The Hunting Grounds is especially popular for birthdays, hens and bucks celebrations, and larger group bookings.
1 hour – $35 –
– 2 hours – $50
A great introduction to long-distance shooting.
More time, more arrows, more settling into the rhythm.
If you need more time, you can always add another hour on the day.
Safety & conditions
Important information
- Shooting is paused if conditions aren’t safe, we may make adjustments on the day to keep everyone comfortable and secure.
- Alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted on site nor prior to shooting.
- We will likely close during gale force winds & heat waves.
What to wear
Dress for the bush
- You’ll be walking through bush terrain with dirt, sticks, and uneven ground.
- Closed-toe shoes are recommended
- Busselton is a wetlands area, and mozzies are part of life here seasonally.
We provide complimentary insect repellent stations on site.

- Traditional bows and suitable recurves under 40lb
- All personal equipment must be checked by staff before shooting to ensure it’s safe and suitable for the range.
- Discount applies when using all of your own gear (bow and arrows).

For bigger groups or special events, we offer tailored group pricing to suit your numbers and how long you’d like to shoot.
For larger groups, booking ahead lets us tailor the session.
Private bookings can include exclusive use of the park for your group.
Birthday packages
If you’re planning a birthday, we also offer dedicated birthday packages that take the thinking out of it.
Memberships
If Primal starts to feel like a place you want to spend more time, memberships offer the most freedom and value.
Members enjoy unlimited access during daylight hours across all activities on the range, with options to organise after-hours sessions by texting ahead.
